The New Year's Run for the Homeless 5K which took place at Quarry Lakes on Saturday January 2nd was a huge success! We raised over $2,200 and collected over 100 warm coats for FCC's 25th Street Ministries, our weekly outreach to the poor in Fremont. Event organizers Brandon and Amber said, "we were praying for 50 runners to come out, we didn't expect how much farther God would take it".
The event drew about 165 participants and over 30 volunteers all of which were excited to take part to support our efforts to serve the needy. Also the post race pancake breakfast was very popular and we want to give a special thanks to Greg and Lettie and their team for making that happen! Due to the amazing success and positive response to the event we are now making plans to expand it for next year and most likely make it an annual race.
